Galapagos shark cruising the sand flats at Raoul Island, Kermadac Islands, in the late afternoon with juvenile fuseliers riding its pressure-wave. May 2009. The perfect synch of the fuseliers and the shark in combination with the sun-rays caught my attention and the shark kept approaching very obligingly over and again. Snapper seen through ulva kelp, Poor Knights Islands. March 2009. The reverse order of background and foreground is the attraction in this shot. Lying very still under thick ulva kelp, the inquisitive snappers of Mororo Bay soon came to investigate me.
